During her graduate training, Carter gained clinical experience integrating art and play therapy techniques while working with children and teens, as well as providing counseling support to parents. Her professional background also includes classroom teaching and nonprofit work.
Carter enjoys supporting clients across the lifespan as they navigate life’s challenges. She is passionate about fostering self-worth and helping individuals develop practical coping skills to manage stress, emotions, and transitions. Carter takes an integrative, client-centered approach to counseling, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs and drawing from strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and Adlerian approaches.
Her areas of focus include childhood anxiety, self-esteem, ADHD, learning differences, and school-related concerns; adolescent identity development, anxiety, depression, boundary setting, and family or peer relationships; and adult concerns such as perfectionism, career stress, life transitions, infertility, pregnancy and postpartum experiences, and parenting stress.
Carter is practicing under the supervision of Rebekah Jones, LPC, CPCS.
Outside of the counseling room, Carter enjoys spending time with her husband and children, going on walks, and reading.
