Jill Howgate, LAPC
Jill is a graduate of Richmont Graduate University where she received her M.A. in Professional Counseling. While there, she worked with adolescents and adults struggling with a wide range of issues including grief, anxiety, depression, career transition, abuse, addiction, relational conflict, and trauma. Jill is experienced working with clients who struggle with feelings of isolation, stemming either from career, stage of life transitions, or social circumstances. She also has experience using creative arts to help adolescents increase self-awareness, social skills, self-esteem, and personal management abilities. Jill enjoys working with couples who are approaching engagement or who have recently become engaged and are looking to strengthen their relationship pre-marriage.
Jill draws heavily on attachment and narrative theory to create an environment where clients feel heard, understood, and safe. She employs techniques from a variety of theoretical approaches to help her address clients’ concerns most effectively.
Prior to her counseling career, Jill studied art history at American University in her hometown of Washington, D.C. When not in the GROW offices, Jill enjoys spending time with family, reading mystery novels, and conjuring up home renovation projects. Jill is an associate member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia.
