Erica received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Marriage & Family Therapy certificate from Richmont Graduate University. Before her Master’s degree, Erica obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Georgia. While she obtained her Masters’ degree in Atlanta, Erica gained extensive experience working in Kennesaw State University Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery and Counseling and Psychological Services and private practice settings. Erica has also pursued trainings through the Gottman Institute, Prepare/Enrich, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems to enhance her work with clients.

As a therapist, Erica uses an eclectic approach to tailor therapy to every unique client’s needs and presenting problems. Erica believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and works to make her clients feel comfortable, safe, seen, and heard. Additionally, Erica believes that therapy is collaborative and values the client’s vision for where they want to go in the therapy process. Erica works alongside her clients to provide support, facilitate healing and processing, ultimately to lead to healthy change.

Erica utilizes several different theories when working with clients, such as Attachment theory/Emotion-focused therapy, Internal Family Systems theory, Schema therapy, family systems theory, Motivational Interviewing, and more. Erica works with teens, individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of issues. Erica’s specific areas of focus include depression, anxiety, self-discovery/identity development, life stage transitions, addiction, strained family relationships, communication issues, and attachment issues.

Erica is currently under the supervision of Lily Scivicque, LPC.
