What kinds of counseling do you offer?

We see clients from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and cultures for individual, group, pre-marital, marital and family counseling. Additionally we offer some assessment and evaluation services – usually for Career coaching, leadership development, and organizational behavior.

How do I make an appointment with a counselor?

Click on the page titled Staff/Contact. You may read about the professionals on staff and when you are ready, fill out the appropriate forms and click send. If you prefer a phone contact, there is contact information listed on the right side of every page. Call or email if you have questions. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate walk-in appointments.

Do you take insurance?

No, we are not able to accept insurance, however we do provide a receipt for you to file with your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Most of our clients get reimbursed from their insurance providers at an out of network rate.  This will depend on your specific policy. We can work with you to help determine what will work best for you.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long. Family, couple and group sessions may be longer. Assessments and evaluations will likely take longer depending on the assessments being given.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is not unlike counseling in totality, however it tends to be more focused on motivation, possibilities, and goals. Wikipedia defines coaching as “a method of directing, instructing and training a person or group of people, with the aim to achieve some goal or develop specific skills.”

What perspective or theoretical approach does the GROW staff use?

We have a variety of professionals (Psychologists, counselors, etc.) on staff who work from a variety of perspectives and have different specialties. It is a resource for our clients as we can connect you with someone with whom you will feel most comfortable. In general, all our therapists work from a strengths based and wellness approach.

Do you use faith sensitive counseling?

Yes. Please just let your therapist know that you are interested in faith-based counseling when you make an appointment, or during your first session. We welcome people from a variety of faith backgrounds, as well as those who with no faith background. We value diversity, and respect your beliefs.

What is the first session like?

The first session will be a process of getting to know you and what you are hoping to get out of counseling. You may share as much as you feel comfortable (we recognize you are getting to know us too!), your therapist will mostly likely ask you questions to help the process and gather information. Towards the end of the first session you and your therapist will make a plan to address your goals. We see this process as one of collaboration. It is normal that you may feel a little apprehensive about your first session if you have not been in therapy before. However most clients report that they feel a great deal of relief at the end of the session.

How often are sessions scheduled?

This depends on your specific needs. On average, clients come once a week. This varies, and clients my come several times as week, or spaced out as far as once a month if that is what they prefer.

What are your fees?

Our fees vary depending on the education level and licensure/certification of your therapist – as well as whether you are attending an individual, group, family session, or workshop. We use work on a sliding scale based on your income level if finances are a concern for you.

Cancellation

We have a 24 hours cancellation policy. Appointments that are not cancelled before the 24-hour mark, will incur full fee – except for the case of extreme emergencies.
