Ethics in Real-Life Situations

This is an experiential workshop that will focus on ethics in real-life situations. Participants will develop/refine their ethical decision making model in order to work through case studies and apply the model to situations that might be encountered in practice.
Learning objectives include:
- Identifying ethical dilemmas in everyday practice
- Applying an ethical decision making model to the identified dilemmas
- The practical nature of enforcing the decision – how to communicate with clients and next steps in the decision making process
Finally time will be spent exploring the impact and importance of self-care in the process of assessing and making ethical decisions. The teaching will consist of a combination of lecture, case studies, and group discussion. Participant should come prepared to participate in small group discussion.
